Puo at the Jozi Book Fair

30.07.09

We’re excited to be part of the first ever Jozi Book Fair!

8th and 9th August at Museum Africa in Newton

Puo will have a stall on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th of August so come check us out and pick up one of our products!

Initiated and organised by Khanya College and Botsotso Publishing, the fair aims to offer small and progressive publishers a forum to showcase their publications and activities, network, as well as the opportunity to develop alternative approaches and strategies.

A range of activities, such as seminars, readings and network meetings will focus on matters which are of interest for small and progressive publishers, and which will facilitate the profiling of non-mainstream writers and publishing houses.

Also on Saturday 8th August from 10h00 to 11h00 Puo will be running a children’s hour.  Bring your kids for the storytelling session and fun games!

On the Sunday 9th August at 10h00, Nthabi Sibanda will be a panelist, together with Keorapetse Kgosietsile and Thiathu Nemutanzhela, on a roundtable discussion on “Indigenous language publishing in South Africa – challenges and prospects”.  This roundtable will be moderated by Professor James Ogude.

Hope to see you there!
