The mission of Puo is to invest in our languages while instilling pride in our cultures and history. In fulfilling its mission, the aim of Puo is to supply products that achieve the following:
- Provide an avenue through which to interact with and teach children African languages and culture;
- Educate and inform by developing children’s basic developmental skills;
- Increase the awareness and pride of varying cultures and languages of the African continent in order to appreciate our diversity and achieve a better understanding of one another; and
- Entertain.
Our vision
Puo’s vision is that every African child is able to speak an African language.
Our Team
The Mummypreneur: Nthabi Sibanda
I wanted to create materials for children that were developed from a postive African perspective, and Puo is the beginning of that process. By exposing children to Africa's great civilizations, her many languages, her rich cultures and beautiful sights, I am hoping that her children - near and far - will draw from her with pride.
So with that, I invite you to purchase our products, speak to children about Africa, submit your comments in our blog, tell us how you have approached langauge and culture in your home, what you are grappling with, how you've overcome this, and of course, some proud moments of your African child.
